Welfare to Work; Work Programme & Work Choice
RNC's Specialist Training team supporting disabled jobseekers in the Marches, Coventry, Warwickshire and Staffordshire
The Welfare to Work Programmes at RNC use our extensive experience built over 140 years of supporting people with a wide range of disabilities and visual impairment (VI) into meaningful and sustained employment.
Over 52% of people with disability are out of work in comparison to 22% of the general population, our specialist support can help redress the balance.
We provide practical workshops that will:
- Develop and support people with disabilities into work
- Develop strategies to encourage employer engagement
- Develop skills to indentify appropriate job opportunities
RNCB’s programme will help:
- Develop self assessment skills
- Provide work based learning
- Prepare for the working environment
- Overcome potential barriers to employment
- Create good non verbal communication, presentation and preparation skills
- Develop best practice in advising both employers and employees
- Develop interview techniques and advice for disabled and VI customers
- Improve confident and positive aspirations
- And importantly develop the skills to maintain employment and progress
About Welfare to Work Programme
The Work Programme is a UK Government's initiative, part funded by the
European Social Fund, which provides a coordinated package of support to long-term unemployed individuals, regardless of the benefits they claim.
The Royal National College for the Blind (RNC) operates as a subcontractor to
Serco in Coventry, Warwickshire, Staffordshire and the March. Serco is the lead prime contractor to the Department of Workand Pensions for the Coventry and Warwickshire, Staffordshire and The Marches and also South Yorkshire.
