BlindArt at RNC
BlindArt Permanent Collection makes its home at RNC
We are delighted that the national BlindArt Collection has made its permanent home at RNC.
The Collection is the world’s first permanent showcase of visual art accessible to all. It includes paintings, sculpture, installations and other works of art that appeal to a multitude of senses.
Discover the beauty of BlindArt
Housed in a dedicated gallery space within RNC’s main building, this stunning collection showcases around 30 exceptional works of art. This feast for the senses is a platform for the works of both visually impaired and sighted artists from around the UK.
And, unlike traditional art exhibitions, visitors are encouraged to interpret these diverse and thought provoking pieces through textures, sights, sounds and smells. Audiences are invited to question the nature of artistic perception – is visual ability essential for artistic excellence and aesthetic appreciation?

About BlindArt
BlindArt is an innovative, inclusive charity founded in 2004. It gained worldwide recognition for promoting contemporary works of art by both visually impaired and sighted artists, showcasing them side by side and challenging the public to distinguish the difference.
BlindArt exhibitions aim to dispel the notion that sight is essential to creating or enjoying exceptional art.
The overall message of BlindArt is artistic excellence regardless of visual ability.
The Collection currently contains 32 works in various media and has been exhibited at: Royal Cornwall Museum, Truro, July 2008; Art London, London, October 2009; Museum of Modern Art, Wales, March 2008; Catmose Gallery, Rutland, January 2008; Menier Gallery, London, May 2007; Affordable Art Fair, London, March 2006; New York Public Library, NYC, October 2006..
