Building Brighter Futures

Help us build brighter futures…

It has been over 30 years since RNC moved to its current site in Hereford, a former teacher training college campus. The interests and requirements of our students have changed considerably over this time and we have taken pride in continually innovating to meet, if not exceed, students' expectations.

In order to maintain and further improve the exceptional standards that RNC is renowned for, a £21.5 million, five-year campus development project is underway to create the facilities and opportunities that our students need now and into the future.

Why we need your help

Individual students’ tuition, accommodation and support fees are paid for by the government, but RNC must find its own way to fund necessary improvements to buildings or equipment.

As a not-for-profit organisation and registered charity, we rely on our ability to fundraise to support everything from the purchase of uniforms for students on complementary therapy or sports courses, to the supply of small items of specialist equipment for teaching departments and to large-scale building renovations.

Some two-thirds of the funds needed for this initiative have already been secured from the college’s own resources and through statutory and other grants, and the Building Brighter Futures Appeal has been set up to raise the remaining funds, which we are doing by making applications to grant-making trusts and by working with corporate sponsors, partner organisations, community groups and individuals at local, regional and national levels.

The campus development project is our most ambitious yet, and the Building Brighter Futures Appeal has some way to go before all of our plans can become a reality.

Progress so far

We are delighted to have raised over £15 million since fundraising began in 2007. This has enabled us to complete Orchard Hall, thePoint4 and Gardner Assessment Centre over the last academic year.

Generous support in terms of time as well as money has been received from a great many statutory bodies, charitable organisations, businesses, community groups and individuals.

Thank you to everyone who has supported the Building Brighter Futures Appeal, including the Learning and Skills Council, the Football Foundation, Advantage West Midlands' Rural Regeneration Zone, Sport England, the Garfield Weston Foundation, the Eveson Trust, Lions International District 105W and the Compass Group.

But we still have a long way to go…
