Fundraising and Supporting the Work of RNC

Building Brighter Futures
The Royal National College for the Blind (RNC) is an exceptional specialist provider of education, training and preparation for work and life.
Our exceptional provision was recognised in 2005 when RNC was awarded the prestigious Beacon Status for excellence, and we continue to improve and expand our scope for excellence in everything we do to offer the best opportunities to our students.
We want to help more people affected by sight loss to work towards their education and career goals, develop new interests, forge new friendships and secure the skills and confidence to build their own bright futures.
Landmark campus development project
As part of our commitment to continuous improvement, RNC is currently two-thirds of the way through the most exciting and ambitious building project in its 130-year history.
Our five-year, £21.5 million development will significantly improve facilities for living and learning on campus. It will also allow us to further strengthen relationships with our local communities as we welcome schools, businesses, community groups and the general public to benefit from some outstanding new and improved services.
Building on RNC’s specialist status and our ambitions for those who come here, an increasingly open and integrated environment will ensure learners have the best chances to make the most of their abilities, entering independent life and the ever-more competitive jobs market with a confident future ahead of them.
Development of the first of four essential buildings began in 2007 (though the fundraising appeal work began several years earlier) and we plan to have completed fundraising and building by 2012. Select Campus Developments to find out more about each of the individual projects.
