Bright for Sight Day - Thursday 14 October 2010

We’re inviting you to wear Bright for Sight and go to work or school on 14 October wearing the brightest clothes and accessories you can lay your hands on.

Raise awareness of sight loss, and – by paying for the privilege of dressing up – raise funds to support the work of the Royal National College for the Blind.

Five good reasons to lend your support…

  1. October 14 is World Sight Day – which focuses attention on blindness or partial loss of sight. By wearing Bright for Sight you’ll be helping to raise awareness of the day.
  2. Around two million people in this country are affected by sight loss and the numbers of people losing their sight is increasing every year.
  3. Hereford is proud home to the Royal National College for the Blind, the UK's leading provider of further education and training for people with sight loss.
  4. Every year students come to the College from all over the UK and abroad to study or train so they can move on to university or into work and lead fully independent lives.
  5. A redevelopment of the College is transforming facilities and improving opportunities for its students. You can find out more about our campus developments by selecting here.

As a charity, we have to rely on fundraising to support this work so we are asking you to get involved and help us Build Brighter Futures!

2009 was a great success with local schools and businesses as well as students at RNC dressing up in their brightest clothes and playing games to raise valuable funds. Can you help us make 2010 even brighter?

To find out more and request your Bright for Sight poster please contact Marion Lyons on 01432 376372.

The suggested donation amount is £2 to take part, but people can give as little or as much as they like. All proceeds will go directly to the Building Brighter Futures Appeal at the Royal National College for the Blind.
