HOW TO MAKE A REFERRAL FOR A YOUNG PERSON - ADVICE FOR CONNEXIONS AND CAREERS WALES ADVISORS
· Encourage the young person that you are working with to visit RNC informally and learn more about our facilities, courses and resources. Contact us on 01432 376621 or e-mail our Student Enquiries Officer via info@rncb.ac.uk.
· Request a copy of our latest prospectus and our application form via Student Enquiries on 01432 376621 or info@rncb.ac.uk. Send the completed application form to us.
· We will contact the young person and arrange for them to come to RNC for their pre-entry assessment.

· We will let you and the young person know the outcome of the pre-entry assessment within 10 working days. If the young person accepts our offer, we will produce an assessment report and the Rationale of Support document [Annex N for students from England or Annex C for students from Wales].
· We will liaise with you on regular basis regarding the progress of the young person’s application for placement at RNC. Once the funding is approved, we will be in touch again to confirm the young person’s travel and start date.
· All young students and their families/carers are invited to the New Student Conference at the beginning of July each year (Friday 9th and Saturday 10th July 2010), whether their funding has been approved or not.
