What next?
Braille can be useful in everyday life, from labelling things and making lists, to reading menus and keeping a diary. However, it is possible to earn a living from braille through transcription services - the programmes on offer at RNC can provide you with a useful basis if you are planning employment within transcription.
Braille Technology
Braille Technology is a means of reading and writing braille by using a range of computer based equipment. This is an ever developing area of support and training at RNC. It offers a highly flexible option of being able to access computers via braille and utilise these in a variety of work and study situations.
Full assessment, training, review and support are available, depending on your learning requirements.
Learner Profile: Josie Smith - Braille Technology
"Learning braille has been great - it's always fascinated me and it's another skill I've had the opportunity to learn. It's been great to be able to communicate more with some of my friends who have no sight at all."
