Volunteering at RNC

RNC welcomes, enjoys and flourishes with having volunteer support at the college. Volunteers enable us to organise a greater variety of activities for our learners, builds strong links between the college and community and provides valued support for our learners across the college.

We value any time that volunteers are able to give, whether it be for an hour a week, a half day every month or one off events. There are many volunteering opportunities at RNC ranging from involvement in social and leisure activities, to support as readers or drivers, through to social business enterprise projects and fundraising.

We wish all of our volunteers to enjoy their experience with RNC. Volunteers become involved for many different reasons – to develop skills and experience towards a career, to be involved in something that feels important to them, to meet new people and to learn and understand about visual impairment.

We provide regular support and ongoing training to all volunteers, in a friendly environment. We welcome ideas and feedback from our volunteers and like volunteers to be involved as much or as little as they wish, as part of the RNC team.
