Volunteering Opportunities
We like our volunteers to be involved in an area that interests them, and to feel confident in what they are doing. Here are some of the current volunteering opportunities at RNC.
- Supporting learners in the college refectory – carrying trays and escorting learners to tables
- Volunteer drivers
- Case study ‘bodies’ for massage and complementary therapies trainees
- Delivery and supporting with leisure activities e.g. acoustic shooting, yoga
- Support for enrichment opportunities – social activities e.g. walks, shopping trips
- Support with running a snack bar
- Learner support – readers, scribes and amanuensis. Support for exams particularly needed for maths and business bases subjects
- Fundraising through ‘Friends of RNC’
- Expert advice and guidance for Social Enterprise activity e.g. Horticulture
- Marshalling and crowd control at sporting events hosted by RNC e.g. 2010 World Blind Football Tournament
- Support with overseas travel for visually impaired staff involved with EU projects. Funding is available to cover expenses
- Practicalities of running the Sports and Complementary Therapies Centre – volunteer sports coaches, front of house and reception staff
- Translation of RNC literature to support sales and EU projects
- Expert advice and professional input from business community:
- Solicitors to review legal contracts etc
- Journalists to assist with copywriting and proof reading
- Sales executives to advise on current sales activities
- PR companies supporting awareness building campaigns
