RNC celebrates success across Level 2 vocational programmes
RNC is celebrating another year of achievement following the release of Level 1 and Level 2 results, highlighting success across a wide range of subject areas.
The results demonstrate the strength of vocational education at the College, with an impressive 92.59% overall pass rate at Level 2 and 80.95% at Level 1.
Several courses achieved 100% pass rates, including Business Administration, Health & Social Care, Support Work, Creative Music Industry, Exercise & Fitness, Home Cooking Skills, and Vocational Studies. Students studying Braille also achieved a 100% success rate at both Level 1 and Level 2.
English outcomes were particularly strong across all levels, with:
• 100% pass rate in Entry Level English
• 80% pass rate in Level 1 English
• 87.5% pass rate in Level 2 English
• 50% achieving Grades 4-9 in GCSE English
These results reflect the commitment of students and staff in developing literacy skills that support future progression into employment, further education and independent living.
Oscar King, aged 19, from Woking obtained a grade 8 in GCSE English Language, this adds to the Level 3 in the Creative Music Industry (Pass) and Level 3 in Health & Social Care (Pass) that he achieved last week. Oscar was thrilled with his GCSE English result and put it down to the support he received at RNC to get him through. He said:
'I was listened to at RNC and I think things like smaller class sizes really helps. The level of feedback I got from my teachers was really clear and there was a really good understanding of the individual students’ needs. I know that my teachers were extremely good at talking to each of us in the class in our own ways, because they understood that we all learned differently. Whereas I think in mainstream, the classes are taught as one entity. Teachers at RNC really see the individual, and I think if it wasn't for that, I don't think I would have passed my English. I'm quite happy with all my results but the English was such a surprise. I really enjoyed the lessons because the teachers had faith in me and I knew that I was learning what I needed to learn.’
Oscar will be continuing at RNC next year. In terms of his career his ultimate “shooting for the stars” goal is to end up working in film as a music supervisor. He appreciates he will have to work his way up but that’s his passion.

Kerry Hunter, Director of Learning (Skills for Life), said:
‘Achieving a Level 2 pass rate of over 92% and seeing so many programmes secure 100% success rates is a fantastic accomplishment. We are particularly pleased with the strong outcomes in English and the excellent vocational achievements that will support students as they move on to further study, training and employment.’
The results reinforce the College’s focus on helping students gain the qualifications, confidence and practical skills needed to succeed in their next steps. With strong outcomes across vocational and specialist programmes, students are well placed to build on their achievements and continue their educational and career pathways.
